Interface

Your view of records .

Theme :
Scroll :
Notification minimum : ms
How long a notification stays on screen at minimum. Each notification asks for its own duration; this is the floor, so a short one (“Copied”) still lasts long enough to read it and reach its buttons. Raise it if notifications disappear before you are done with them. Hovering a notification, focusing it, or pinning it already pauses its countdown.
Shortcut modifier :
The modifier every shortcut below is held with. One modifier set, not “Ctrl or Cmd” — a shortcut that answers to both burns two keystrokes to do one job, on every platform. Auto picks the lane that is actually free on the digit row: Ctrl + Cmd on macOS (Ctrl + digit is taken by Mission Control, Cmd + digit by the browser’s tab switching), Ctrl + Shift on Windows / Linux (Ctrl + digit switches browser tabs and cannot be intercepted, Alt + digit does the same in Firefox, and Ctrl + Alt is AltGr — it would swallow the characters a Slovak / Czech / Polish / German layout types with it).
View shortcuts :
Opens a main view from anywhere in the app. Click a field and press the combination you want — press it with the modifier above and the row keeps following that setting; press anything else and the row keeps exactly what you pressed. Backspace or turns a shortcut off, Esc cancels the recording, restores one row (the button under the list restores them all).
Colors :  Background       Papers       Buttons
Table colors :  Select       Delete       Insert     Intensity  %
Custom style :
Page result : Records
Records loaded per page. Used by any stream view without its own number below — the rest load as you scroll.
Page result — Time list : Records
/time/list. Each record here is a full editable paper, so a big page is slow to open; older records append at the bottom as you scroll.
Page result — Chat : Records
/chat. Opens on the newest messages; older ones load at the top as you scroll up.
Papers header :
The meta line printed above every paper in the stream. One line here = one row there; [ … ] is one group. A group whose values are all empty is left out. Empty field = back to the default.
Indent size : Spaces
Position offset :X px   Y px
Cursor size :   px
How big the “•” cursor button is drawn. Typing your own number switches the list to “Custom”.
Cursor touch size :   px
The invisible area around the “•” that still counts as a tap — grow this to hit the cursor menu with a finger while the button itself stays small. Never smaller than the button.
Cursor inside color :
The color INSIDE the “•” cursor button while you are writing — its idle state. “Default” is the paper color, which is why the button reads as white on a white paper and stays out of the way. Picking the swatch switches the list to “Custom”. The swatch keeps your colour when the list is on something else, so ↻ puts the button back to its shipped look without losing it.
Cursor inside color (menu open) :
The same fill while the cursor MENU is open — the button’s active state, set separately so the two are told apart at a glance. “Default” is the app’s accent blue.
Cursor border color :
The 2px ring drawn around the “•” cursor button, in both states. “Default” is white; “Transparent” removes the ring and leaves the fill alone.
Cursor dot center :
The small dot drawn in the centre of the cursor button. It is white, so on a white paper it only becomes visible once the button turns blue with the menu open. Turn it off for a plain button.
Cursor dot dim :
The cursor button rests at the app’s usual inactive weight while you write, and wakes to full strength the moment you point at it or open its menu — the same idle/active convention as every other button in XREC (like the ‘X’ button at the bottom). Turn this off to keep the button at full strength always.
Menu Show Lock :
The 🔓 button in the top-right corner of every cursor-menu panel — it keeps that menu open after an action, so the same item can be clicked again and again. Turn it off if you never hold a menu open.
Group titles :
The small headings inside the “•” cursor menu (“Writing”, “Web”, “Media”, “Interactive”, “Row”, “Column” …). A thin line always separates the groups; this only turns the text off for a shorter menu.
Cursor menu items search :Path show :
With “Search Everywhere” (the 🌐 switch beside the cursor menu's search box) a match is listed with the PATH it lives at. Left reads the path into the name — “🕒 Meta › Time › Now” — so rows that share a name are told apart before you reach the word they share. Right puts the name first and parks the path at the row's end.
Cursor menu shortcuts :
Each opens the “•” cursor menu at the caret (Ctrl on Windows/Linux, Cmd on Mac). Turn one off if it collides with something else on your system — e.g. Ctrl/Cmd+- is also “zoom out” in most browsers.
Paper menu shortcuts :
Opens the paper’s “⋯” menu (Views / Basics / Tools / Size / Media) and hands it the keyboard: ↑↓←→ or Tab move, Enter runs the highlighted button, typing filters by name, Esc closes — the same keys as the “•” cursor menu above. Turn it off if it collides with something on your system.
Right click / touch :
Inside paper content only. The second box decides who owns right click there: checked = XREC does, so the browser/OS menu never opens over the cursor menu; unchecked = the browser does, and right click behaves exactly as it always did (its “save image as” / “paste” / “inspect” come back, and the cursor menu is left to the “•” dot and Ctrl/Cmd + / instead). The first box is what XREC does with the gesture once it owns it — right click (mouse) or a two-finger tap (touch) opens the “•” cursor menu at that spot. Everywhere else in the app the OS menu is untouched either way. The second box is also a switch in the cursor menu itself (the 🚫 / 🖱️ button in every panel head, next to 🔒 and 📌), for flipping it without walking over here.

💾 SharedWorker DB Tests

Tests SharedWorker DB connection and CRUD operations (check console for logs)

🌱 Demo Data

Fills the local DB with ~100 repeating-but-unique demo records (links, tables, svg, text) so views aren't empty and search always finds several matches. Idempotent (tops up to ~100) and only ever touches demo-marked records — never your real data. After filling, open /time/list to see them.
🔄 Reseed (force) clears demo records and re-seeds a fresh batch even when the DB already holds real records (Fill skips then, to protect real data). It still only ever touches demo-marked records — your real data is left untouched. Every demo record carries a real gps journey (created ≠ updated place, see the 📍 line in its content) — open any of them and try Meta ▸ Place ▸ Sum.
